ABOUT ME

Welcome to CAM Racing.

My name is Charlotte Marcuzzo, I am 19 years old and have a passion for motorbikes.

Ever since I was little, I have loved going to British Superbikes. Being able to watch Tommy Hill and Shakey Byrne in action made me fall in love with the excitement and adrenaline. I never once thought that I could get the chance to live my dream as it seemed so far away.

Four years ago I got the life changing opportunity to finally ride a bike at the age of 12. Although I started off on a 140cc pit bike in British Minibikes it was still incredible to me. In my first season I won the 2018-2019 Winter Championship and went on to lead the 2019 Summer Championship up until the final round. Unfortunately, I had a crash in the last race on some oil, however the experience of the season was worth a lot more to me. Alongside competing in British Minibikes I completed my ACU license which would allow me to ride motorcycles with much larger engines above 125cc.

BMCRC Bemsee was where I learnt to ride a Kawasaki 300 at tracks such as Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park. I attended a couple race meetings and achieved two 3rd places at my first round. At the beginning of 202 we flew out to Cartagena, Spain for four days of extra practice with the coaching of Dean Ellison, this was to bring on my riding skills ready for the upcoming season.  Despite the interruption of COVID-19, once the racing had began we only got 5 rounds in total, however that didn’t stop me from working hard and accomplishing my goal of top 6 finishes and ending the season with a podium in wet conditions, at Brands Hatch.

Our initial plan for 2021 was to ride a Kawasaki 400 in Thundersport GB with the intention of coming top 3 or even win the Championship. However as the 2021 season neared, plans changed. I attended the first couple rounds of Thundersport but after many discussions we made the decision to make the jump to British Superbikes.

We came to the conclusion that 2021 would become a learning year for me in the Junior Supersport class. This was to allow me to gain crucial track knowledge and improve my riding skills to become faster whilst being surrounded by many other talented riders. The year started off at Donington Park, World Superbikes, it was a very difficult few races but I instantly improved and strived for better results. As 2021 progressed I worked my way up the grid each round aiming for top 20 finishes.

As well as concentrating on constant improvement, I got the unique opportunity to become associated with FHO Racing. After plenty of preparation it was officially announced before BSB Snetterton that Faye Ho was taking on supporting two female racers in Junior Supersport. Our bikes got redesigned to be in the eye catching FHO colours. This relationship will hopefully carry on into 2022.

Towards the end of 2021 I was pushing to the limits and getting to the positions I wanted to be achieving, but I can still go even further. Unfortunately due to a large crash at Oulton Park I struggled to competitively compete at the last round and missed a race meeting in between. Luckily that didn’t knock my confidence and I am even more ambitious for the future.

My 2022 season started off with a bang, I finished my first race at Silverstone in P10 and qualified pole position for the second race. In doing this I became the first ever female to sit Pole position in British Superbikes history. This was an amazing achievement for me and ir set the bar high for the rest of the year. As the season progressed I was scoring points in nearly every race and fighting in the front group for podium positions.

In September of 2022 I attended my home race at Snetterton Circuit, I had a flying start in the second race starting from 4th position. After holding on to 2nd place in the first lap I unfortunately ran into a mechanical problem which meant I lost out massively in the race but I still pushed to finish.  It wasn't the result I was hoping for however I knew I had the pace to stay with the front runners and took that as a positive to build on in the next races.

2023 Pre season testing was amazing, I felt I was riding at my strongest level so far and was raring to get the season underway. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. At the first round which was at Silverstone circuit I had mechanical problems in both races which didn't allow me finish. However I wasn't going to let this set my year on a low.
